Five fire engines attended Dover’s Eastern Docks this morning after a fire broke out on a cargo ship.
The crew was called at 6.28am and arrived at Dover Cargo Terminal within minutes, but found the small blaze was out on arrival.
A specialist water safety unit also attended the scene.
A Port of Dover spokesperson said: “Whilst the incident was minor, the full coordinated response reflects how seriously the Port and its partners take any incident at this key international gateway.”
