Reports of hospital closure dismissed

HEALTH bosses are denying reports that Dover's Buckland Hospital Dover could be shut to save money.

The proposal was suggested in a confidential report produced by the financial director of the East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust.

Getting rid of Buckland and the Royal Victoria Hospital at Folkestone, which cost £10 million to run each year, could be the answer to the trust's financial problems.

But they're saying they want to make smaller cuts like reducing certain opening times first.
