SURVIVORS and relatives of those who died in the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster are expected to visit Dover today, the 21st anniversary of the tragedy.

St Mary's Church in Cannon Street will be open from 10am to 4pm.

Arrangements have been made for any visitors who wish to offer silent prayers for the 193 passengers and crew who died that terrible night.

A memorial window at the church depicts the ship and the Belgian workers who helped many survivors escape from the capsized vessel.

A service took place at the Seafarers' Centre in Snargate Street this morning and afterwards relatives went to the Prince of Wales Pier to throw wreaths and flowers into the sea.
