FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a former college in the county on Sunday afternoon.

Fire crews were called to the derelict building in Folkestone Road, Dover, just before 2pm.

Flames were doused with hoses from six pumps.

It was the third fire at the former Kent Adult Education site over the weekend. The first was at 6pm on Saturday and a second fire was reported later that evening.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue said the minor fire on Saturday night was "definitely deliberate".

The site, which has recently gained planning permission to be converted into homes, has been frequently broken into in recent months.

It is believed there were no casualties.
