GILLINGHAM'S new signing Darren Byfield marked his debut for the club with a 16th minute strike as the Gills put five past Dover on Wednesday evening.

Second half goals from Mamady Sidebe, Matt Bodkin, Mark Saunders and Matty Jarvis wrapped up a comfortable night's work against the Whites.

A strong first half team made Dover work hard, and with just one previous match under their belts, the Ryman League side struggled to keep up.

A younger and less experienced side capitalised on a good first half effort, with some good quality football and some decent finishing.

Team: Banks (Brown 45), Nosworthy (L. Johnson 45), Hills (Beckwith 65), Hope (Cox 45), Ashby (Rose 45), Smith (Da Silva 65), Saunders (Bodkin 65), Spiller (Hessenthaler 45), Roberts (Sidibe 35), Byfield (Jarvis 45), I. Johnson (Crofts 45). Att. 806.
