Long delays on the M2 near Junction 5 Stockbury roundabout after crash between a lorry and a car

There are long delays on the M2 due to reports of a crash between a lorry and a car.

The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway between junction 6 for Faversham and junction 5/A249 Stockbury roundabout turn-off.

National Highways says traffic officers are at the scene due to a crash involving two vehicles.

One lane closed but in an update issued by the highways agency at 5.50pm it said all lanes are now open again.

There are currently seven miles of congestion causing 40 min delays above normal travel time.

Elsewhere, there are also delays on the M20.

One lane is closed on the coastbound carriageway between J8, for the A20 Ashford Road (Leeds Castle/Maidstone Services), and J9, for the A20 Fougeres Way (Ashford), due to a broken down vehicle. Traffic is said to be coping well.
Police have been contacted for more information.
