Woman injured in Folkestone cliff fall rescued by coastguard teams

A huge emergency services response was sparked after a woman fell down a cliff.

The alarm was raised at 8pm on Friday near the Warren Country Park in Folkestone.

Coastguard teams from Folkestone and Langdon Bay performed a rope rescue of an injured woman who was stuck half way down East Cliff.

An air ambulance was pictured landing close to the incident to assist with the rescue.

Once recovered, the woman was handed over to paramedics and treated at the scene.

She was taken to hospital for further treatment and the extent of her injuries are not yet known.

Police were also seen at the incident and have been contacted for a comment.
