Eurotunnel and Eurostar services to France set to return to normal following earlier incident

Services to France are set to resume to normal following an earlier 'incident' on one of the lines linking Kent to Calais.

Passengers using Eurotunnel and Eurostar were advised to expect delays of around two hours when one of the tunnels was taken out of operation due to an 'incident' which unconfirmed reports suggested were due to infrastucture issues.

However Eurotunnel passengers reported delays of up to four hours following this morning's timetable disruption.

Police confirmed they were not involved in the situation and Eurotunnel LeShuttle apologised for the delays, stating: "Both tunnels are now clear and departures from the UK will resume shortly.

"Please accept our apologies for today's delay."
