Girl left scarred after subway attack

KENT Police have launched an investigation after a teenage girl was left scarred after an attack in a subway.

The 15-year-old victim was walking home through a passageway which runs under Churchill Avenue at Folkestone when she was approached from behind by two girls.

Her attackers, also teenagers, pulled her hair and knocked her to the ground where they kicked and punched her a number of times, causing cuts and bruises.

The victim was taken to hospital where she was treated for a serious injury to her lip. Surgeons have said she is likely to be scarred.

One of the attackers may have an injury to her hand where the victim scratched her during the scuffle.

The incident happened at about 10.30pm on Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Sgt John Kemp on 01303 850055.
