Man arrested in M20 accident

A man has been arrested after an accident involving his lorry caused the roundabout at Junction 12 of the M20 to be closed.

The incident happened at around 2am today and police hope to re-open the roundabout later this morning.

The man was arrested on suspicion of careless driving after his lorry left the roundabout.

Police said the vehicle was hanging over the parapet after failing to negotiate a tight bend.

The barrier has now been made safe and once the lorry has been recovered from the site, the exit slip road can be reopened.

Drivers wanting to use the M20 London-bound are advised to go to J11.

Coastbound M20 traffic for the Channel Tunnel is unaffected.
