Two men appear in court after charity shop break-in in Sandgate Road, Folkestone

Two men have appeared in court charged with burglary following a break-in to a charity shop in Folkestone.

Peter Baars, 49 and Valter Pimentel, 38, both of Cheriton Road in Folkestone, were arrested by police and charged with with the offence on Saturday (May 26).

It relates to a break-in at a charity shop in Sandgate Road during the early hours of Thursday May 3, where jewellery and a collection box were reported stolen.

Mr Baars was also charged with possession of suspected class B drugs.

The pair appeared in at Medway magistrates court yesterday (Tuesday May 29).

Mr Baars was remanded in custody and Mr Pimental was released on bail to appear again at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 27 June.
