A section of the M20 was closed causing major disruption this morning after a serious crash involving a lorry.

Congestion has cleared on the London-bound stretch of the motorway after all lanes reopened.

Officers were called to the scene at junction 11 near Folkestone at approximately 3am this morning along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area with a diversion put in place.

The lorry was recovered at about 8.45am.

Police said inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
