There's still a long way to go, but the smile on Aaron
Lindridge’s face says it all.

The three-year-old and his family are back home after their
92-day trip to the United States where the youngster underwent
life-saving cancer treatment.

And there was a big surprise for Aaron and his seven-year-old
sister, Emily, (pictured above) when the family arrived home. The
siblings' shared bedroom had been redecorated by their doting
grandparents, along with the lounge and kitchen.

Each morning in America, Aaron, of Taunton Road, Northfleet, had
two hours of proton chemotherapy to treat a rare form of childhood
cancer known as rhabdomyosarcoma. The treatment is not yet
available in the UK.

The NHS funded Aaron’s treatment and travel, along with his
parents, but we asked Messenger readers to help too.

They raised about £12,000 so that Aaron’s sister could join the
family abroad. The cash also helped pay for food and other
essentials during their 92-day stay.

The family won’t know if the treatment has been successful
until September and he will not get the all clear for at least five
years.
