Police are investigating after a car was deliberately set alight on the driveway of its owner’s home this morning.

Firefighters from Thameside were called to the property in Harman Avenue, Gravesend, at 1.26am to find the fire had developed and spread to the front of the garage door.

It took the crew close to an hour to put the fire, which had been discovered by neighbours, out.

A spokesman for the station said: “The car was severely damaged, as was the front of the garage.

“It was deliberate and the police are now dealing with it.”
