A MAN suffered head injuries and shock after his lorry overturned and crashed on West Street, Gravesend (Marcel Le Gouais writes).

The lorry overturned just after passing the roundabout linking Bath Street to West Street at around 3.40pm on Tuesday.

Two fire engines were called to the scene along with an ambulance and two police cars.

The lorry driver was treated for cuts and abrasions to his head. Sub Officer Paul Wright said: "There were no other pedestrians around at the time so no-one else was injured. "

The truck crashed just outside the Starbucks ship chandlers alongside the roundabout.

Sally Starbuck, the shop's owner, said: "Accidents are very frequent on the roundabout. There must be an adverse camber on the road. Alterations to the road have been made many times but accidents occur very often."

Mrs Starbuck added: "There's obviously something wrong with the road as it keeps happening."
