Snow may yet hit next week's Ebbsfleet-Dartford derby at Stonebridge Road.

Ebbsfleet officials are keeping more than one eye on the weather as the Big Freeze threatens to hit the Christmas football programme, including the Blue Square Bet South derby clash against Dartford on Tuesday.

Stonebridge Road has again been covered by several inches of snow and club secretary Peter Danzey admitted: "There are conflicting forecasts. It’s a case of waiting and seeing what happens."

Fleet could appeal again for help to clear the terraces and pitch, after more than 20 volunteers turned up to ensure the FA Trophy tie against Hayes went ahead.

Fleet and Darts are already facing a mounting fixture backlog due to their FA Cup runs and the bad weather.

Liam Daish’s side haven’t played a league game for more than a month and already face two games a week until early February.

Darts, whose last league outing was at Woking on November 27, have lost their last two fixtures against Braintree and Weston.
