Paul Lorraine leads Ebbsfleet out against former club AFC Wimbledon on Saturday hoping to help spring an FA Cup first round surprise.

The 27-year-old defender (pictured) who quit full-time football to concentrate on a teaching degree at Greenwich University, will need no introduction to the Dons faithful after three spells at the club, before becoming one of Liam Daish’s first summer signings on a one-year contract.

Fleet boss Daish said: "Paul has done well, is a big part of the team, and a big character in the side. He settled in nicely and the fans have acknowledged that as well. It will be good for him and Derek Duncan to go back to their old club."

Duncan made 31 appearances for the Dons last season, before returning to Stonebridge Road for a second spell in the summer.

Fleet are unbeaten in 12 league and cup games and Daish added: "Going there is a tough call. We have got a good away record and the lads are confident. We want to go there, give a good performance and play our part in a good cup tie."

At least 500 supporters are set to follow Fleet to Kingston for the game, which is not all-ticket, against a Dons side knocked off the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier table last week after losing 2-0 at home to Darlington.
