Ebbsfleet are still waiting to make an announcement on the futures of Ashley Carew and Calum Willock.

Boss Liam Daish was due back from a short break this week, with midfielder Carew and Willock (pictured), two of the promotion-winning squad still to commit, with 12 of the players already re-signed.

Assistant manager Paul McCarthy and Academy boss Ian Docker are continuing to work with the PASE squad every afternoon, with trials for the new season intake planned for next month.

McCarthy enjoyed the celebrations after Fleet’s exciting promotion play-off final win at Farnbrough last month but is already looking ahead to the new challenges of a return to Conference Premier football.

He said: "It will be difficult. The league is now full of ex-league clubs, with Stockport and Lincoln coming down this time. It’s northern and Midlands-based and means there will be lot of travelling for us.

"Ideally we would probably prefer going overnight but we are a part-time club and it might not be feasible for players to get time off work to travel."
