Father and son fined for neglecting property

A father and his son have both been fined £300 after a court ruled they neglected a property they owned despite having eight months to clear the mess up.

Kalvinder Singh Sandher, 56, and Sukhvir Sandher, 30, of Gloucester Road, Gravesend, were told by a court their property in Darnley Road was in a ‘totally unacceptable’ condition.

The two men pleaded guilty to charges of neglect after Gravesham Borough Council served a notice in March 2010 under the Town and Country Planning Act.

The duo were given until November to resolve the problem but failed to do so and appeared at Dartford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 11.

The men were each fined £300 and also told to pay £225 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
