Meopham man charged with multiple gun offences after investigation into stolen Land Rover

A man has been charged with multiple firearms after police investigating the theft of a Land Rover searched his home.

Phillip Bailey, of Meopham, was arrested on Tuesday, April 7 after police searched a property and recovered several weapons, drugs and expensive items suspected to be linked to criminal activity.

Officers had been investigating the disappearance of a black Land Rover Defender which had been reported stolen from an address in London the day before.

They then found it located at the 31-year-old's home in Beechwood Gardens, Meopham.

The next day Bailey was charged with six counts of possession of a handgun as well as a quantity of 9mm ammunition without a certificate.

He was also charged with two counts of handling stolen goods, namely the Land Rover Defender and a Range Rover, possession of criminal property and cocaine.

Bailey was remanded in custody when he appeared before Medway magistrates the same day

He will next appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday, May 6.
