A man was airlifted to hospital with head injuries after an apparent assault.

The land ambulance crew called for an air ambulance which landed in parkland nearby.

The incident happened in Norfolk Road, Northfleet on Sunday (July 3) at just before 2.30pm.

Kent Police also attended.

The man was taken to Queen's Hospital in Romford which has a specialist head injury unit.

Witnesses said that the road was closed for several hours after a fight between a polish man and woman.

It is thought the man needed a CAT scan.
