Teens to face trial over bus driver assault

A TEENAGER has denied assaulting an off-duty bus driver in Gravesend.

Nicholas Colyer, 18, from Tonbridge, appeared before Dartford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (February 3) charged with common assault.

He had previously pleaded not guilty to the charge, and will now appear before the magistrates again on February 24, when a trial date will be set.

The alleged assault took place outside the Railway Bell pub in Garrick Street on September 27 last year.

Ryan Bremner, of Vigilant Way, Gravesend, has also been charged with one count of assault causing grievous bodily harm and one count of common assault in relation to the incident.

The 18-year-old has denied the charges and will appear before Maidstone Crown Court on March 13, when a trial date will be set.
