A woman who was killed by a stallion hours after discharging herself from Darent Valley Hospital has been named.

Teresa Turner, 53, of St George's Crescent, Gravesend, was found dead in a field in Darenth Wood Road last Friday.

Police confirmed the stallion had caused her death but said they were not treating it as suspicious.

A spokesman for Darent Valley Hospital said the 53-year-old was admitted to hospital the previous evening and left against doctors' advice.

He said: "We offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the lady who was killed in this tragic incident."

A date for her inquest has not been set.
