5,000 children to benefit from Fleet initiative

GRAVESEND & Northfleet Football Club are preparing to launch another major Football in the Community campaign with local schools.

Last season, players from the Fleet’s first-team squad visited 25 local primary schools, speaking to more than 5,000 children and providing free coaching sessions.

In conjunction with these visits, the club distributed 4,700 free tickets for Nationwide Conference matches to pupils within the borough of Gravesham.

As well as fun coaching sessions for primary school pupils, the initiative intends taking first-team players into secondary schools to work with teachers on such issues as healthy eating and fitness.

The club will still offer tickets to all Nationwide Conference home games with the chance to enter a prize draw.
