DEFENDER Robert Watkins joined the summer exodus from Gravesend when he became the 12th player to leave Stonebridge Road.

The 20-year-old left-back, who impressed while on loan from Fulham at the end of last season, was available after being release by Craven Cottage boss Chris Coleman.

Fleet boss Liam Daish said: "We shall not be pursuing him as he is out of our price bracket."

Daish urgently needs replacements after releasing club captain Steve McKimm, Andy Drury, Jay Saunders, Bobby Bowry, Justin Skinner, Mark Rawle, Aaron Kerr, Ashley Fuller, Danny Glozier, Scott Gooding and Jimmy Jackson.

Staying at the club is skipper Paul McCarthy, who has agreed a one-year contract.
