Royal Navy bomb disposal team create quite a bang in Herne Bay

A metal detectorist sparked an emergency bomb disposal team call out after finding a suspected Second World War mortar round near a beach.

Coastguards were told about the device 100 metres off the beach at Hampton in Herne Bay at midday on Sunday, but the tide had covered the suspect device.
