Airport hotel is turned down

PLANS for a 100-bed hotel at Biggin Hill Airport.have been rejected by Bromley Council.

It's development control committee rejected the application for a hotel and restaurant in the South Camp area.

Airport chiefs said they were disappointed and condemned the decision as "anti-business, anti-employment and inconsistent."

The new hotel, which would have been outside the green belt, would have brought 100 new jobs and was widely supported by airport businesses and aircraft operators. Airport chiefs are considering an appeal.
