ACCOUNTANTS at Baker Tilly are celebrating following news the firm has been ranked the country’s number one provider of audit services to charities.

The news was revealed in CaritasData’s Top 3000 Charities book for 2004. The firm, which has seen its charity audit client base grow by 15 per cent in the last two years, beat ‘big four’ accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers to the top spot for having the most number of charity audit clients.

Bill Owen, charities and education partner at Baker Tilly in Tunbridge Wells said: “Baker Tilly has worked hard to build up its experience and expertise in the not-for-profit sector.

“We are constantly looking at ways to build on and improve our services to this invaluable sector which, by its very nature, needs advisors it can trust to manage its financial affairs, perhaps more than most.”
