Boost for business parks

MORE general industrial premises are being made available in Whitfield, Dover.

This is one of the results of the latest Kent Property Market Report published by Kent County Council, Cluttons Commercial and Locate in Kent, in association with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Launching the report, KCC cabinet member for regeneration Alex King said: "Despite the global economic uncertainty during the past 12 months, Kent has continued to see growth.

"There has been a constant stream of deals at Kent's established business parks."

But a shortage of suitable new speculative build general industrial premises in East Kent has led the South East England Development Agency, in conjunction with Priority Sites, to increase the supply of such premises with a development at the White Cliffs Business Park.

Speculative development is also underway at the former Betteshanger Colliery site at Deal, and Dover has seen industrial and distribution property deals at higher prices than last year.
