Director will unleash Thameside's potential

A DIRECTOR responsible for leading regeneration projects across Kent Thameside has been appointed.

Ian Lindsay begins his new role as executive director of the Kent Thameside Strategic Implementation Team on July 1.

He will lead a team co-ordinating major projects including the new Fastrack public transport system, the Green Grid network of open spaces and the European-funded Urban programme.

Cllr John Muckle, chairman of the Kent Thameside Joint Executive Committee and leader of Dartford Council, said: "Ian Lindsay will bring a new depth and vision to the exciting future which lies ahead for all of us in Kent Thameside as we strive for a better future."

Mr Lindsay will report to the Joint Executive Committee and three councils - Dartford, Gravesham and Kent, and support the wide-ranging work of other key partners.

The former assistant director at the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham said: "Kent Thameside clearly has the potential to be one of the most successful and vibrant growth areas in the UK, with developing links to London and mainland Europe.

"But there is still a great deal to be done to ensure this area can maximise its potential."
