A COMPANY which has offices in the county is getting the money to help find jobs for disabled people living in the area.

Remploy will receive government funding to help it support up to 20,000 disabled people living in the UK.

Bob Warner, chief executive of the company, which has offices in Laker Road, Rochester, said: "In five years’ time we can be supporting 20,000 disabled people into jobs in mainstream employment. Four times as many as today.

"We welcome the Government’s encouragement to push ahead with the expansion of our employment services division, which last year found 4,300 jobs for disabled people.

"We will begin consultations with our trade unions and employees and are looking forward to a constructive dialogue to ensure the best possible outcome for disabled people."
