A WELL-KNOWN Kent hotel has a new boss.

Dominic Di Cara has taken over as general manager of the Ramada Maidstone Hotel and Resort - formerly the Great Danes - at Hollingbourne. He has replaced previous general manager Simon Barker and heads a team of 150.

Mr Di Cara has been with Ramada Jarvis for 11 years, having opened the Ramada Tunbridge Wells hotel in 1991. He has also worked for MacDonald Hotels and Forte Posthouse, and has been twice nominated for a "General Manager of the Year" award.

The Ramada has recently undergone a multi-million pound facelift, including a refurbishment of its large Heart of Kent conference and banqueting suite, a popular venue for corporate events. Every room is now equipped with the latest facilities.

He said: "I look forward to welcoming guests from all over the UK to experience both our hotel and the entire region."
