A LAND of Leather shop is to open in Gillingham, creating 10 jobs.

The leather specialist plans to open a store at Gillingham Business Park on Boxing Day.

It will be the company’s third store in Kent and will be based at the former B&Q site at Ambley Road.

The 60,000sq ft unit is currently being converted into four stores. Work should be completed by October.

Other potential tenants include Dreams, Carpetright and the Bath Store.

A spokesman for Land of Leather said: "We are very excited at the opportunity to expand our brand into the Medway Towns.

"It comes after our recent August Bank Holiday openings which saw us break through the 100 store barrier."

B&Q moved to bigger premises near Will Adams Way last summer.
