Roadshow teaches start-up skills

INFORMATION on setting up a business or improving skills will be available at a roadshow in Herne Bay and Whitstable this week.

The events are run by the Prince's Trust, which aims to attract young people who can benefit from their programmes. On Tuesday, February 26, the team will be at the Kings Hall and on Wednesday they will travel to the Umbrella Centre in Oxford Street, Whitstable.

The roadshow is funded by the community regeneration partnership and will offer advice, funding and mentoring to unemployed 18 to 30-year-olds who want to start their own business.

There will also be information on development awards aimed at helping 14 to 25-year-olds meet goals and European awards which enable 18 to 25-year-olds take on short voluntary placements in Europe.

Young people aged between 16 and 25 can also get advice on a 12-week personal development programme that will develop confidence, motivation and skills.
