10 charged after dawn police swoops

A WEEK after police officers executed 17 warrants in dawn raids across north and west Kent and London, 10 people have been charged with various offences, including cash machine and metal thefts.

Henry Dunn, 26, from South Ash Road, Ash, near Sevenoaks, has been charged with two counts of cash machine theft, from Gravesend and Longfield, one count of robbery, one count of theft of metal and theft of a motor vehicle from Maidstone.

Dunn is also accused of handling stolen goods and one additional count of theft of a motor vehicle. He has been remanded in custody by magistrates.

Tom Dunn, 21, South Ash Road, Ash, has been charged with theft of metal and a motor vehicle from Maidstone. He has been bailed to appear before Dartford magistrates on Friday.

Tommy Dunn, 26, from South Ash Road, Ash, has been charged with the attempted theft of metal in Sellinge. He has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Dartford Magistrates' Court on December 17.

John Levi Dunn, 23, Shamrock Road, Gravesend, has been charged with theft of metal and a motor vehicle from Maidstone, theft of metal from Staplehurst and conspiracy to steal. He has been bailed to appear before Dartford magistrates on December 20.

Mark Eastwood, 34, Hill Rise, Darenth, near Dartford, has been charged with conspiracy to steal property. He has been bailed to appear before Dartford magistrates on December 21.

Jimmy Powell, 23, Highfield Road, Blackpool, Lancashire, has been charged with conspiracy to steal. He has been remanded in custody.

Samuel Powell, 22, Hart Dyke Road, Swanley, has been charged with conspiracy to steal. He has has been remanded in custody.

Terry Vine, 20, Ingoldsby Road, Gravesend, has been charged with theft of metal from Staplehurst and has been bailed to appear before Dartford Magistrates on 20 December 20.

Aaron Hand, 28, Bevis Close, Dartford, has been charged with conspiracy to steal and theft of metal. He has also been charged with drink driving to which he has pleaded guilty and received a 16 month disqualification and one day imprisonment. He has been remanded in custody in connection with other alleged offences.

Toni Rendle, 25, of Farm Holt, New Ash Green, near Dartford, has been charged with fraud by false representation. She has been bailed to appear before Dartford magistrates on December 19.

A further six people who were arrested for various offences have been bailed pending further investigations. Two people have been released without charge.

On Wednesday 5 December more than 180 officers were involved in the large-scale operation, executing search warrants at various addresses across the South East.

On Thursday, December 6, two men and a woman were also arrested in Orpington for a range of offences including conspiracy to commit burglary.

These raids follow an intensive 12-month investigation by the Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) of Kent Police, into an organised criminal gang operating in Kent and neighbouring areas.

The investigation targeted a wide range of organised criminal activity, including cash machine thefts, robberies, burglaries and theft of lead and metal.

The Serious and Organised Crime Unit have been working closely with officers from North and West Kent throughout this investigation.
