Campaigners opposing
the proposed Kent International Gateway
(KIG) freight depot can now sing their protests thanks to
a new song.

The anti-KIG song has been
written by Bearsted resident Bob Piggott.

Mr Piggott has lived in the
village, which is near Maidstone, for the past 22 years
and the proposed 285-acre international road-rail freight
interchange will begin a hundred yards from his home.

An enthusiastic amateur musician
and self-declared lover of 1970s folk music, he has based his
musical protest on the 1973 hit by The Strawbs - Part of the
Union.

Mr Piggott is a teacher at the Leigh Technology Academy in
Dartford
