Appeal after boy of 14 is stabbed

A 14-year-old boy is recovering after being stabbed outside a public house at Leysdown on Sheppey.

Police are appealing for a number of people who were in the area at the time to come forward with information.

The teenager was leaving the Talk of The Town pub between 1.40am and 2.10am on Saturday when he saw two men arguing outside. Moments later he felt a blow to his side and looked down to find he was bleeding from a stab wound.

The boy went back into the pub where he informed the bar manager what had happened and an ambulance was called.

He was taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital where he was kept in over night but allowed to return home the following day.

The first offender is described as white, 6ft 2ins tall, quite fat with short brown hair, in his early 20's and possibly wearing a red T-shirt.

The second offender is described as 6ft 2ins tall, of a lighter build than the first man, wearing dark clothing and a thick good chain outside his top.

PC Anthony Hopper, who is dealing with the case, said: "This is a very serious incident. It's key that anyone with any information comes forward."
