Arson suspected after cafe blaze

DETECTIVES are investigating a suspected arson attack which severely damaged a cafe at a Kent beauty spot.

Much of Lakeside Café at the Capstone Valley Park nature reserve in Chatham was destroyed in the fire on Sunday night.

Firefighters battled for four hours to put out the blaze. Four pumps attended.

A spokesman for the Medway Fire and Rescue Service said: "Over 50 per cent of the café was destroyed in the blaze. We received a call at 11.45pm and only left the scene at 3am."
