Arson suspected after caravan blaze

A FIRE crew was forced to attend a blaze on foot after being called to a caravan fire on a cycle path this morning.

A single fire engine from Maidstone went out to Detling Hill at 6.15am, taking two hours to deal with the fire as the firefighters were forced to carry their equipment when the engine could not access the narrow road.

Firefighters believe the caravan was there as a result of flytipping, and that it was set alight on purpose.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
