Aston Martin has beaten a host of technology, food and fellow vehicle manufacturers to the title of the UK 'coolest brand'.

The CoolBrands Council quizzed 2,300 consumers, designers and trendsetting musicians to discover which brands boasted the most appeal and strongest status.
The Gaydon-based manufacturer's cutting edge designs, high performance and association with the likes of the James Bond franchise helped it secure top spot ahead of Apple who took second and third spot with the iPhone and iPod.

Motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson came in sixth while Italian super-car maker Ferrari came ninth.
