'Baseball bats' used in street attack

TWO men were punched, kicked and beaten with what is thought to be baseball bats in an early morning street attack.

Kent Police say the victims, friends aged 23 and 24, were walking in Brooke Avenue, Garlinge, near Margate, on Friday, June 22, at about 3.10am when they were verbally abused.

They ignored this. But then a dark BMW 3 series car then pulled up near them. Two men got out and they were joined by other people. It was then the victims were attacked.

They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate for treatment to head and other injuries. They required stitches to their wounds.

Three men, two aged 20 and one aged 21, have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail until August 6, pending further inquiries.
