Boys and girl held over theft in caravan

FIVE young people have been arrested after a caravan parked on a drive was broken into.

Police say a neighbour reported seeing four boys and a girl emerging from the caravan parked in St John’s Avenue, Sittingbourne. on Monday at around 9.35am.

They were later seen on nearby Rectory Road where they were all arrested on suspicion of burglary, though it is not yet known what was stolen from the caravan.

A 17-year-old girl from Sheerness, two 16-year-olds from Sittingbourne, a 15-year-old from Whitstable, and a 17-year-old of no fixed home, were all taken into custody at Sittingbourne Police Station for questioning.

They have all been bailed to Saturday, April 14, pending further enquiries.
