The BP boss who came under fire for his handling of the oil spill will apparently NOT be resigning.

The company says Tony Hayward, who lives in Sevenoaks, has the full support of the board and will remain in place as their chief executive.

The Times newspaper reported he would be stepping down within months as BP tried to draw a line under the massive ecological disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

But Sky sources say a meeting today will not see the departure of the oil giant's boss.
