he The coastbound carriageway of the Thanet Way at Whitstable was closed at around 8.30am this morning after a car caught light.
The driver pulled onto the grass verge after the engine of his Ford Fiesta began to smoke.
But within a few minutes the car was a ball of flames and police diverted traffic via the Whitstable slip road while firefighters put out the blaze and the vehicle was removed.
