Cliff fall boy loses fight for life

A TEN-year-old boy has died in hospital after falling from the clifftop at Cliftonville, near Margate.

He plunged about 60ft from the cliff edge at a grassed area next to the Lido leisure centre on to the concrete promenade below.

Thanet paramedic Andy Smith said: “It appears he climbed over the safety railings. He must have lost his balance and tumbled. Ambulance crews did everything possible to resuscitate him and we got to him to the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.”

The boy fell on Saturday afternoon. He died in hospital shortly before 9pm that night.
