Firefighters spent four hours tackling a huge haystack blaze in Medway overnight.

Crews were called to Islingham Farm Road, Wainscott, at just after 9pm to find 150 tonnes of hay alight.

The bales were said to be stacked three high and 10 deep.

A water unit from Larkfield was sent to the scene to supply the three crews with 14,000 litres of water.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was "possible" the fire was started deliberately.

Crews are expected to remain at the scene until this afternoon.
