Paul Farbrace is stepping down as Kent's director of cricket after two years in the role.

Farbrace moved to the St Lawrence Ground in September 2009 having been assistant coach of Sri Lanka for the previous two years.

He has enjoyed a long association with the county having also previously been academy director and a player.

Kent chairman George Kennedy said he was "personally extremely sorry" to see Farbrace leave.

"It has been a challenging period for the club and Paul has worked with great commitment to deliver results,” said Mr Kennedy.

Farbrace said it had been a privilege to be the club's director of cricket.

"I have enjoyed working with the group of players and wish them well," he said.

"I am now looking forward to the future and I will always have good memories of my time at Kent.”
