Doctor found dead at home

TRIBUTES have been paid to a doctor found dead at her home in in Station Road, Patrixbourne, near Canterbury.

Dr Sheilagh Boyd, who was 42, was found by her husband, Philip Jones, in the garage of their home.

A post mortem has been carried out and an inquest opened and adjourned. Police are not treating her death as suspicious. Dr Boyd began work part time as a GP at Whitstable Health Centre in April, 2001, after raising her three children.

Practice manager Lesley King said: "Sheilagh was a highly valued, competent and very popular member of the practice team and will be greatly missed by doctors, staff and patients alike."

The family will hold a private funeral. A memorial service will be held at Vernon Holme School, Harbledown, at 5pm tomorrow.
