Driver slightly hurt as lorry overturns

A ROAD was blocked for more than six hours after a foreign articulated lorry overturned following a collision with a telegraph pole near Maidstone just before midnight last night.

The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries and shock at the bottom of Sutton Valence Hill on the Headcorn Road near the junction with Forsham Lane.

A section of road was closed until about 6.30am while the contents of the vehicle was off-loaded and the lorry recovered.

Meanwhile, a car overturned following a collision with another vehicle just after midnight on the Tonbridge Road, near Hadlow.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the incident involving a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a grey Ford Fiesta.

The road was partially blocked until 1.30am while the two vehicles were recovered. No one was injured.
