Drug raid nets cannabis worth £25,000

AROUND 100 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £25,000 were seized when police raided an address in a Kent town.

Officers discovered the drugs factory in Somerset Close, Chatham on Tuesday evening after conducting enquiries in the area.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with cultivating cannabis. He will appear before Medway Magistrates Court on March 26.

PC Dave Saunders said: "Residents can help us close these places down by being vigilant and reporting their suspicions to us."
